Ms. Margolies is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In addition to private practice, Ms. Margolies has military psychological background and expertise. She serves as Director of Psychological Health working with U.S. Marine Forces Reserve and is dedicated to providing Marines full access to appropriate psychological health care services, increasing resiliency, and facilitating recovery which is essential to maintain a ready military force.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Ms. Margolies specializes in family and interpersonal dynamics treating individuals, couples and families in the context of family relationships. In therapy she will help you address issues from anger and resentment to intimacy and communication skills. Talking to and seeking treatment from a marriage and family therapist is a pathway to discovery of core problems thus enabling you to gain insight and a better understanding to realistic solutions and ultimate resolutions.

Ms. Margolies has experience in the treatment of a wide array of issues including emotional state and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, relational problems and substance-related problems. She has provided family therapy to high need families suffering from traumatic effects of child abuse, neglect, and child molestation.

Ms. Margolies obtained dual site clinical graduate training working as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern at Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA) and The Salvation Army Harbor Light Village-Vet Program. She co-facilitated a psycho-education group, PACT (Parents and Children Together), to strengthen family relationships and parenting skills. Ms. Margolies’ training and work experience at CAPA and The Salvation Army serves her well in private practice. At CAPA Ms. Margolies provided a variety of services of prevention and treatment of children and their families. This workinvolved challenging cases with a sizeable amount of her caseload mandated to treatment and/or involvement of the court system due to high conflict families and custody disputes. She frequently went the extra mile, working closely with Kansas and Missouri social services and the courts on collaborative teams to keep families together. In connection with her work at The Salvation Army, providing services to homeless male veterans in transitional housing, her main goal was to reintegrate and reconnect veterans with their families.

Ms. Margolies received her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Friends University. She received her undergraduate degree in criminal justice from Washburn University in 1988. With an added master’s degree in conflict management and dispute resolution from Baker University, Ms. Margolies also offers services for domestic mediation (non-financial) in matters involving children and families. Such services include developing parenting plans, mediation of family conflict and co-parenting issues.

Ms. Margolies has served as a volunteer for Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) as a hospital/law enforcement advocate providing support and advocacy services to sexual assault victims.
